MyBroadband recently spoke with some of South Africa’s leading ISP’s to determine what is the most used source of internet connectivity.
While most of the ISP’s have seen a steady decline in DSL Fixed Line Internet, many have shown significant up taking in their Fiber Solutions.
Although the decrease in new DSL Signups, DSL Fixed Line Internet is still the most commonly used internet connectivity source in South Africa, with some ISP’s having exceptions when it comes to LTE and LTE-Advanced?
Many customers that are not based in metropolitan areas, would probably switch over to Fiber Internet in an instant, but they do not have the benefit of sufficient coverage, and infrastructure costs are very high.
This also mainly led to the increase in LTE packages, where some ISP’s are reporting a larger number of LTE client, as opposed to DSL clients. LTE coverage has increase significantly over the last couple of years, providing customers with higher speed internet connectivity and lower latency for technology solutions such as VoIP & cloud based solutions.
At Siemtech we believe in diversification and making sure your company is never disconnected. Therefore, we provide LTE and LTE-Advanced Internet Solutions to companies that fall outside a Fiber Internet Coverage area.
